Architecture & Development — Dhaka, Bangladesh
Architecture,in proportion.
Climate-responsive homes of brick, light and green — each one measured against the golden ratio, the proportion nature grows by.
Scroll to descend the spiral
The ratio nature builds with. We design with it — and with the sun, the wind and the monsoon of Bengal.
We are 1point6D — architects and builders from Bangladesh. We let the climate draw the first line: the south-east breeze, the western sun, the monsoon rain. Then we measure every space against the golden ratio, until the building feels inevitable.

We build with five materials. Four of them are free.
Light, breeze, green and rain cost nothing — if a building is shaped to receive them. Brick does the rest.

01 / 05
Light /alo/
Deep overhangs, screened terraces and perforated planes filter the harsh western sun into soft, livable light.
Breeze /batash/
Bedrooms and balconies turn south to the seasonal south-east winds, while courtyards pull cross-ventilation through every home.
Green /sobuj/
Vines, planters and terraces make each building a vertical landscape — gardens in the sky that cool the microclimate.
Brick /it/
Exposed brick and concrete, chosen for durability and low maintenance — a timeless palette rooted in the craft of Bengal.
Rain /brishti/
Monsoon rain is harvested into underground reservoirs, giving water back to the building and the land.

Every plot, in proportion.
Our work, indexed the way we think about it — by the land it stands on. Each plot is drawn to the same scale.
